Community Hero Award - Many congratulations to trainee teacher Emma Hanabury, who was nominated for and who won the Community Hero Award at a glittering evening last Thursday.
Emma’s dedication to pupils at Mayfield was described as “second to none” and was nominated for “her care and patience, which allows her to build positive and supportive relationships with pupils”.
Mayfield parent Joni Cullen, whose son Joel is assisted by Emma, said: “She is a lovely girl who understands her son”. She goes out of her way to be there for him. It’s so lovely to see
the smile on his face whenever he meets her.”
Emma wanted the award to reflect on everyone that works at Mayfield.
Congratulations also to Mayfield parent Clare Farrell who won Carer of the Year and to our school community nurse, Maria Morton who was nominated and shortlisted for the Unsung Hero Award.
