Thrive® promotes children’s and young people’s positive mental health by helping adults know how to be and what to do in response to their differing and sometimes distressed behaviour.  Based on established neuroscience, attachment theory and child development, the Thrive Approach provides training and an online profiling and action-planning tool to equip adults with the knowledge, insights and resources needed to develop the relationships that help children and young people to flourish and learn.

At Mayfield we currently have three Thrive licenced practitioners (Ben, Chris & Rachel) who coordinate thrive throughout the school.  We are able to use the thrive assessment tool to identify children who may require additional guidance and support with their social, emotional and mental health.  As licenced practitioners we are able to identify and develop key areas of need which the students address on a 1 to 1 basis with 20-30 minute weekly sessions.  As well as the individual work,  each class at Mayfield is baselined using the online profiling tool and a Thrive action plan is generated, outlining activities and strategies to follow and implement to improve the social and emotional understanding of each student at Mayfield school.
