Trail : home : Campus Whitehaven
In August 2015 it was announced that new state of the art facilities will be built for Mayfield School and St Benedicts within the 'Campus Whitehaven' project. This is a £33 million investment from a range of partners including Britian's Energy Coast, Copeland Community Fund, Cumbria County Council, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Sellafield Ltd.
The two schools will come together on the current St Benedicts site replacing the buildings, radically improving the teaching and learning environment and creating the potential for boosting pupils' aspiration and attainment.
The proposal is about investing in Copeland's future, ensuring that there is the knowledge, skills and good health in the community to get the most from the opportunities presented by the anticipated growth of the nuclear and renewables industry.
